A New Quilting Expereince

Every few months some crafty friends and I get together to sew, knit, beed, paint and more. I have always knit at these chin wagging sessions. Thanks to my friend Andrea, I was fortunate to receive a huge amount of exqusite linen and cotton samples from her home store just days before our mother's day crafting session. I have started but far from finished! I will keep you posted....

Through the inspiration of Berene and Krista, I decided to embark on a quilt making endearvor.

In the far south on the banks of the Alabama River the women of Gee's Bend have been producing the most beautiful quilts for the last two centuries. The quilts seem to break the rules of conventional quilt making. Irregular shapes and colours are used, planned or unplanned, they are nuggets of beauty. We can only be inspired ... these are their works.
